Anxiety and depression are hardly rare, especially these days. However, if these situations are accompanied by chronic pain throughout your body, if even a slight touch causes pain and discomfort and if you’re having problems concentrating and remembering things, you may be suffering from fibromyalgia.

This is a condition that affects approximately 3% of the population, and the overwhelming majority of victims are women. There is no cure for this condition at present – mainly because medical researchers are not clear what it is – but there ways of providing chronic pain relief.

Other Symptoms

In addition to pain and mental confusion, patients with this condition may also experience:

- sleep difficulties
- irritable bowel syndrome or other LGI issues
- numbness or tingling
- low blood sugar levels
- difficulty urinating
- muscle spasms
- heart palpitations

For most people suffering from fibromyalgia, pain relief is the top priority, however.

What Causes It?

Unfortunately, medical researchers are not clear as to what causes fibromyalgia. Some believe it is nothing more that a psychological condition; a physical examination usually reveals nothing out of the ordinary. It has been associated with rheumatoid arthritis as well as lupus, both of which are inflammatory conditions.

Current theory suggests that it may be caused by a condition that makes the brain hypersensitive to pain signals, resulting in a much lower-than-normal pain threshold. Some individuals may be genetically predisposed as well; researchers have noticed that it runs in families. Another culprit is a dysfunction when it comes to the secretion of chemical neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin.

Fibromyalgia Pain Relief

Psychotherapy has been shown to be effective in some cases; patients who undergo this type of alternative pain relief therapy greatly benefit from an exercise program as well. Pharmaceutical treatments include: the use of anti-depressants, anti-seizure medication, dopamine replacements, tranquilizers and even opioid medications. However, any and all of these can produce unwanted side effects; the latter in particular has the potential to create dependency.

Alternative Pain Relief

Increasingly, non-pharmaceutical alternative pain relief methods are showing exceptional promise. New research demonstrates that the human body has an amazing ability to heal itself. Natural, non-chemical chronic pain relief can be stimulated through the use of massage (something that indigenous peoples have known for centuries) as well as the use of light and sound. One exciting development is the use of magnets. While magnetic energy does little on its own, when used in combination with these other elements, it has been demonstrated to provide fast and effective fibromyalgia pain relief in chronic sufferers.

Though unlikely, there are times when you might want to reverse Botox. Though complications are few, they do happen.

Botox is a medication that is injected into muscles, causing them to be temporarily paralyzed. It is usually injected into certain facial muscles that cause wrinkling or folds such as the forehead worry lines, the lines between the eyebrows, and the crow’s feet areas.

If Botox accidentally gets into a muscle that it’s not supposed to then that muscle may become hard to move. Although rare, the muscle that seems to cause the most trouble is the levator aponeurosis, or the muscle and attachment that lift the upper eyelid. This may cause the rare complication of a droopy eyelid. Since Botox lasts for about 3 months, you may have the unfortunate possibility of having a droopy eyelid for several months.

To reversethis phenomenon, you may need a prescription for eye drops that help to reverse the effect of Botox. These eye drops are prescription only and are a key part of reversing the effects of Botox.

A key point is having confidence in your injector. It is important for the injector to assess the areas of your face before getting Botox. There are also several tricks your injector should know to avoid getting Botox in the wrong area and your injector should also know how to completely reverse the Botox injection, if needed. Generally, Plastic Surgeons know about the facial anatomy and physiology due to years of surgical training and they know how to avoid and treat any complication. Patients should also be informed regarding what to do and what not to do to avoid any complications from a Botox injection.

Women hair loss is tied to self-esteem and self-worth in a significant measure. Because so much of society’s assessment of an individual is based on how they look, an appearance that is less than beautiful can often by judged very harshly. For women who had thinning hair, the only solution was to try to cover the problem by wearing a scarf, hat or wig.It may take weeks or months for the loss of hair to become apparent.

If you are an individual whose hair has always been thick and healthy, you are likely to be embarrassed when you realize your hair is gone. It usually disappears all over the head, unlike that patterns in men’s balding, but female hair loss can still be very obvious on the front of the head above the eyes.Genetics is a contributing factor in both male and female hair thinning. If your mother and grandmother had thin hair after age forty, it is likely that you will also. Most hair loss has a genetic factor and it comes through the female side of the family.

The hormonal activity that is associated with the thyroid gland has a link to thinning hair. If your thyroid is not producing enough of the hormone, you can experience symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, weight gain and thinning hair. In order for your thyroid levels to be high enough, it may be necessary to add supplements to your diet. One difficulty with low thyroid production is that standard tests are not sensitive enough to disclose low levels. There are some diseases that cause thinning hair, even baldness. Fortunately, these diseases are very rare. Some cancer treatments will cause the hair to fall out, but new drugs are being studies all the time that have fewer side effects.

Finding the right treatment to solve the problem of female hair loss is a matter of determining which of the major causes is involved. There are medications that deal directly with hormonal issues and with thyroid hormone production. Taking vitamin and mineral supplements is an easy fix. Eliminating the factors that cause genetic thinning is possible. More rare conditions causing hair loss can also be treated, once the underlying cause is diagnosed. You no longer have to try to cover up women hair loss. Go to your dermatologist to determine the type of condition causing the loss of hair and get a treatment plan started. You may find that certain types of treatments require several months before improvement is noted.
